The Galleri test is one tool we can use to detect cancer in the body. Granted, it is a new and exciting test that may help us detect many cancers before symptoms develop but please understand that the screening we currently recommend for colon, breast, thyroid and prostate cancers remain the most efffective way to detect those cancers and others. It is very important to continue yearly physicals, gynecologic exams, mammograms, colonoscopies, and blood testing. The Galleri test complements but does not replace the screening tests we recommend in our office.
