James B. Legan MD
Address
Dear Patients,
After 33 years of practicing Internal Medicine in Great Falls, Montana,
I will be retiring at the end of August. I would like to thank you for
making this the best job ever. As C.M. Russell
said, ?Any man that can make a living doing what he likes is lucky, and I am
that.?
I will be leaving you in very capable hands. I am pleased to
announce Dr. Burke Hansen will be taking over my practice. Included
below is an introduction to Dr. Hansen.
Your
medical records are confidential. If you stay with Northwest Physicians, your
records will remain with Dr. Hansen. If
you choose a new provider, you or your new provider can request your
records. To do this, you will need to
fill out and sign the appropriate form either at our office or at your new
provider?s office.
Ashley IS NOT RETIRING, and will continue to work with Dr. Hansen.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in me.
I wish you the very best for your future health.
Sincerely,
James B. Legan M.D.
Dr. Burke Hansen will be joining
Northwest Physicians as of September 1, 2026.
This will be a homecoming for him as he was raised on a ranch in
Highwood, where his mother still resides.
He earned his undergraduate degree from
Carroll College in 1995. He completed
medical school at Creighton University in 1999.
In 2002 he completed his residency training in Greeley, Colorado at
North Colorado Family Medicine. Dr.
Hansen practiced full-scope family medicine in Dillon, Montana from 2002 to
2026 caring for patients of all ages. A
2014 sabbatical in New Zealand helped shape his commitment to a work-life balance
and a patient-centered whole person approach to care.
Dr. Hansen enjoys teaching and serves as
a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington School of
Medicine. Outside the clinic, he enjoys
fly fishing, bird hunting with his black lab, beekeeping, and following his
favorite sports teams.
Have a nice day and stay safe!!!
